AIVA is an AI music composition platform that can generate original music in 250+ styles and lets you customize, edit, and download your compositions.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the AIVA Website
Go to the official AIVA website. On the homepage, select Create a free account if you are a new user, or Log back in if you already have an account.
Step 2: Create Your AIVA Account
Click Create an account and enter the requested account information. AIVA’s account setup documentation says that email registration requires a valid email and password.
What to do:
- Enter your name.
- Enter your email address.
- Create a strong password.
- Submit the registration form.
Step 3: Verify Your Email
After registration, check your email inbox for the verification message. Open it and click the verification link. AIVA’s account documentation indicates that email verification is required for email/password registration.
Tip: If you don’t see the email, check your Spam/Junk folder.
Step 4: Log In to AIVA
Return to the AIVA login page and enter your email and password. AIVA’s official login page provides the login option and a route for users who don’t yet have an account.
If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password option to start the reset process.
Step 5: Open the Create Track Option
After logging in, open the AIVA creation area and click Create Track.
AIVA’s official help documentation describes several ways to create a track, including:
- From a Style
- From a Chord Progression
- Step by Step
- From an Influence
For beginners, From a Style is one of the easiest options.
Step 6: Choose a Music Style
Select the style or genre that matches your project.
AIVA supports 250+ musical styles, giving you options for different types of compositions.
For example, you may choose styles such as:
- Cinematic
- Classical
- Ambient
- Electronic
- Jazz
- Lo-fi
- Orchestral
Step 7: Customize Your Composition
After choosing a style, adjust the available composition settings according to your project.
Depending on the creation workflow, AIVA lets you work with settings such as key signature, duration and number of compositions.
For example:
Key: C Major
Duration: 1–2 minutes
Compositions: 2–3 variations
Step 8: Generate Your Music
Once your settings are ready, click Create Tracks or the corresponding generation button.
AIVA will process your selections and generate the composition. You can then listen to the generated tracks and choose the one that works best for your project.
Step 9: Edit and Customize the Track
If the generated music isn’t exactly what you want, open the track in AIVA’s editor.
AIVA’s official help documentation says users can edit tracks, change BPM, modify instruments, edit notes, add effects, and make other composition changes.
This is particularly useful when creating:
- YouTube background music
- Film scores
- Game music
- Podcast music
- Intro/outro music
Step 10: Download Your Music
When you are happy with your composition, use the track’s download option to export it.
The available download formats depend on your AIVA plan. AIVA currently lists MP3 and MIDI downloads on its Free plan, while higher plans provide additional formats and, on Pro, high-quality WAV export.
