Stable Audio is an AI-powered music and sound-generation platform that lets you create music, sound effects, and soundscapes from text prompts, then edit and export your creations.

Step 5: Enter Your Music Prompt
Type a detailed description of the audio you want.
For example:
“Cinematic emotional piano with soft strings, atmospheric background, dramatic mood, slow tempo.”
Stable Audio recommends being specific about genre, instruments, tempo, mood, and era rather than using a very general prompt
What to show: Prompt box with an example music prompt.
Step 6: Choose Your Generation Mode
Stable Audio’s current Studio guide describes two main modes:
- Full Mix – creates the prompt as one finished mixed track.
- Multi-Track – creates separate parts/tracks that can be mixed, muted, soloed, regenerated, or edited individually.
What to show: Full Mix and Multi-Track options.
Step 7: Select the Audio Length
Choose how long you want your generated audio to be. The current Studio guide lists options including AUTO, 0:30, 1:00, 1:30, and 3:00, while Stable Audio’s broader platform information says compositions can range up to six minutes depending on the workflow/model.
What to show: Duration/length selector.
Step 8: Generate Your Audio
Review your prompt and settings, then click Start to generate the music.
Stable Audio’s guide explains that starting a Full Mix session consumes credits, while failed generations are not charged.
What to show: The Start/Generate button and generation process.
Step 9: Edit and Improve Your Track
After generation, you can work with the resulting audio on the deck.
Depending on the workflow, Stable Audio allows you to:
- Adjust volume
- Pan tracks
- Mute or solo tracks
- Add tracks
- Regenerate a track
- Replace a section
- Extend a track
- Apply effects
- Use tape-style edits such as reverse, stutter, and freeze
