Udio is an AI music generator that lets you create complete songs from simple text prompts, including vocals, lyrics, instruments, and different musical styles.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Visit the Official Udio Website

Go to the official Udio website using your desktop or mobile browser.

What to do:

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Visit Udio Official Website
  3. Look for the Sign Up or Sign In option.

Udio states that the official web experience is available at Udio.com

Step 2: Create Your Udio Account

Click Sign Up to begin creating your account.

What to do:

  2. Choose your preferred registration method.
  3. Udio currently lists Google, Discord, X, Apple, or email as signup options.

Step 5: Open the Create Page

Click Create to start making your first AI song.

  1. Click Create.
  2. Find the song description/prompt area.

Step 6: Write Your Music Prompt

This is where you tell Udio what kind of song you want.

Step 7: Choose Lyrics or Let Udio Generate Them

You can either allow Udio to generate lyrics or provide your own.

For AI-generated lyrics:

  1. Describe your song.
  2. Let Udio generate the lyrics along with the song.

For your own lyrics:

  1. Open the Create page.
  2. Select Custom in the lyrics section.
  3. Enter or paste your lyrics.
  4. Generate the song.

Udio officially supports both AI-generated lyrics and custom lyrics.

Then:

Click → Create

Udio generates songs based on your prompt. A generation produces two songs, according to Udio’s current documentation.

Step 9: Listen, Edit, Extend, or Create Another Version

You can:

  • Play the generated song
  • Compare different generations
  • Modify your prompt
  • Generate another version
  • Extend a song
  • Remix or edit where available
  • Organize songs in your Library

Udio’s current creation tools include extending songs, remixing, editing, and other song-creation workflows.

Tip: If the first result isn’t good, don’t completely change everything. Change one element at a time—for example, modify the genre, tempo, vocals, or mood.

Step 10: Save and Organize Your Udio Song

Finally, save your favorite creation in your Udio Library and use the available sharing/organization options.

The Library lets you search and organize your creations, including favorites and playlists.

Important Udio Note

Udio now has an official iOS app, but its Help Center says there is currently no official Android app. Android users should use the official website rather than installing unofficial apps claiming to be Udio.

For audio uploads, Udio says the feature is available to paid subscribers and users must have the necessary rights to the audio they upload
